As a non-profit chartered member of the National Village to Village Network, we benefit from over 350 existing village examples as well as expert advice in demonstrating how volunteers, working at the grassroots level, offer practical assistance to their aging neighbors whether in home care, transportation or social engagement. These volunteers are a highly valued asset as research by the National Village Association indicates that 53% of volunteers are also dues-paying members. Our volunteers average age is 50 and older supporting roles in our York Association as Board Members (10 people) as well as committees: Membership, Marketing, Member Services, Communications, Social,
Fundraising/Development. We pride ourselves in our inclusion of younger generational volunteerism, particularly in the areas of computer skills, social media efforts and paperwork help for our members.
